With the arrival of our new Progress Pickleball website and new communication mechanisms, there are also some changes in club operations.
As of today, Mel Shepard has decided to step aside from managing the club. As one of the founding members of Progress Pickleball, we as club members and pickleball players cannot thank Mel enough for his devotion to the club. For 3 years, he worked tirelessly and selflessly to keep the club running smoothly and to ensure we had a venue to meet up at and play pickleball. In the process, he laid a solid foundation for the Progress Pickleball Club to grow year after year.
With Mel stepping aside, the baton gets passed to Mike Livie. Mike will now be the driving force behind the club and manage the growth and evolution of Progress Pickleball. He will effectively be our new Club President.
For us as pickleball players, there will be no change in our enjoyment of the game at Progress Pickleball. Just as Mel did, Mike will continue to work with our wonderful group of convenors who volunteer their time to help organize pickleball games for us. We will still be open 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. And there will still be cookies at the convenor's desk every day.
One positive change is with the launch of the new Progress Pickleball website. Its primary goal is to provide timely club information and updates to our members. Together with the new website, an enhanced e-newsletter facility will also be used. We encourage you to visit the website regularly as it will always be updated the moment we have something to announce or communicate.
Special thanks again to Mel for all of his contributions over the past 3 years. And congratulations to Mike in his new role.
We look forward to seeing you all on the courts.
