Progress Pickleball is open Monday to Saturday from 9am - 12pm. We have had the opportunity to be open on Sundays, albeit much earlier. Unfortunately, this has not worked well for us. Therefore, we will not be opening Sundays for the next few months.

One of the reasons for our time crunch on Sundays has been the demand for badminton courts in our area. At least 12 badminton courts in our area closed during the Covid crises. Their demand for court time far exceeds ours at the time available to us.

We expect new badminton courts to open soon and we will be adding 4 new courts of our own within 18 months.

Either result will free courts for us and we should be able to get better hours on Sundays. We will reopen Sundays when the courts are available.

September 17,2021

This week I will be running a "Newbies" session drop in for a group of people who want to learn and have fun.

These sessions are $20. They begin at 7:30am and run to 9:00am. Some stay to play until 10:00am.

From 9am - 10am I am trying to play catch up with people who could not make the scheduled beginners class during the week.

Our current rules say if people wanted to drop in Sunday they had to let me know by Thursday noon. Nobody let me know so courts 1, 2 and 3 have been released to badminton.

The Progress Pickleball Club has always been a drop-in club.

Our available Sunday hours, 7am to 10am do not really work for drop-in.

We have courts available at these hours if we use them, but there is also a demand for court space from non-members.

If you wish to play on Sundays please let me know by Thursday noon of that week. I will book the courts, probably at a ratio of 1 court per 6 people.

This way Felix can book the unused courts.

I will be there most Sundays doing Beginners Clinics, so the club is going to be set up.

Monday to Saturday will remain drop-in from 9am to 12 noon.

August 4, 2021:

Reminder to please let me know before noon on Fridays if you wish to come in on the upcoming Sundays. If there is not significant interest, the Club Calendar on our website will show we are not opening. The status of Sunday drop-ins will be updated each Friday evening.

July 29, 2021:

This Sunday we will be open for drop-in from 7am - 10am. However, I'll need a court at 9am to teach newcomers.

In the future for the club to be open on Sundays I will need commitment from 10 people before noon on Friday.

July 26, 2021:

Last week was fun. Saturday from 9-12 worked out to be one of our best days since we reopened.

Sunday, on the other hand is open from 7am - 10am. This does not seem to be attracting many people during the summer.

I think, until we can negotiate different hours we will have to have some sort of indication that at least 12 people intend to show up on Sunday. This would justify our holding 3 courts available. If we cannot say we have a dozen people intending to come, the club will be able to advertise these courts are available for rental.
